Prince William’s Three-Word Message to Kate at BAFTAs Revealed

It was a glamorous night for the Prince and Princess of Wales as they attended the BAFTAs in London. Prince William, 43, and Kate Middleton, 44, walked the red carpet at the Royal Festival Hall to celebrate the best of British film and television. Kate stunned in an elegant princess-style Gucci gown, while William wore a burgundy tuxedo. The royal couple posed for photos and greeted guests before taking their seats for the ceremony. During their arrival, the pair briefly whispered to each other.

According to a lip reader cited by The Mirror, Kate reportedly said, “Look at the people!” before waving and greeting the crowd. William then quietly told her to “watch your step” as they walked inside. The couple also spoke about films during the evening. William admitted he has not yet seen Hamnet, which won Outstanding British Film, saying he wanted to watch it when he felt calmer.

Kate, however, had seen it the previous day and described it as “very powerful,” praising its emotional story and music. She joked the film left her with “very puffy eyes.” Kate also shared that their children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — are becoming more interested in movies and enjoy learning about what happens behind the scenes.

Later in the evening, William took the stage to present the BAFTA Fellowship to NBCUniversal entertainment chair Dame Donna Langley, praising her leadership and influence in shaping modern cinema. The royal couple’s appearance combined elegance, warmth, and genuine enthusiasm for film, making their presence one of the highlights of the night.
